We're looking for an incredible team of individuals who can offer a bit of time and their skills to help create our magical experience, and North Polers to make it happen!
Volunteer with Us This Christmas!
Be part of something magical — and make a real difference this Christmas season.
This December, The Hideaway is bringing festive joy to families across the North West through our first-ever Hideaway Christmas Family Experience — and we’d love you to join the team making it happen!

Our Christmas experience is full of creativity, laughter, and heart. With eight themed zones, a Father Christmas visit, a cosy Christmas café, and even a VR sleigh ride, it’s set to be an unforgettable event — and we need a brilliant team of volunteers to bring the magic to life.
Why Volunteer?
Volunteering with us is about more than just giving your time — it’s about spreading joy, building community, and being part of something special.
You’ll meet great people, learn new skills, and play a part in creating a memorable experience for thousands of local families. Plus, you’ll be supporting the work of Hidden Treasure Trust, helping families and vulnerable people move from poverty into hope and transformation.

Volunteer Roles
Whatever your skills, we have a place for you on the team!
The Creative Team (October–November)
Help us bring the magic to life! We need artists, makers, crafters, sewers, and all-round creative thinkers to help design and build our themed zones. Whether you can paint, sew, use a Cricut machine, or just follow instructions and lend a hand — we’d love to have you on board.

The Professionals (November–January)
Got a trade or technical skill? We’re looking for electricians, plumbers, builders, network engineers, and safety experts to help us set up safely and restore the venue afterwards. Donating your time and skills is an incredible gift that helps us keep our charity running strong.

The North Polers (December)
Once the doors open, it’s showtime! Our North Polers are the cheerful elves, hosts, and helpers who welcome families, run activities, and keep the festive spirit alive. Whether you’re greeting guests, helping little ones with crafts, or donning a costume to spread joy — you’ll be at the heart of the magic.
What You’ll Get
As a volunteer, you’ll receive:
-
Training, costume, and all necessary equipment
-
Food and drink while on duty (as feasible!)
-
A parking space
-
A thank-you celebration event in January
-
Experience, references, and something brilliant for your CV
-
And of course… a warm fuzzy feeling and loads of festive fun!
How Much Time Do You Need to Give?
That’s entirely up to you! Whether you have a few hours a week, a single day, or lots of time to spare, we’ll find a role that suits you. You can get involved from home, join build days, or help during live event sessions — whatever fits your schedule.

Ready to Join the Team?
We’d love to hear from you!
Simply fill out our short volunteer form to let us know a bit about you and how you’d like to help. We’ll then invite you to a volunteer evening (in person or online) where you can meet the team, ask questions, and find your perfect role.
Come be part of something joyful, creative, and full of hope this Christmas — and help us make A Hideaway Christmas Family Experience truly unforgettable.
Apply for a Christmas role with us
This Christmas there are 3 main paid roles available. Contracts are short, beginning in November for training and ending in January so it's a great opportunity to earn a little extra over Christmas whilst spreading Christmas cheer.

North Polers - This team are the beating heart of the experience. From checking people in to helping with activities, serving food and cleaning up, this team ensure the experience is magical for every person who walks through the door.
Head Elves - Our Head Elves are what you might call Team Leaders and help keep things running smoothly and ensure that all of the North Polers know where to be when, and what they're doing.
Father Christmas - AKA Santa, Father Christmas is going to be needed to turn up and say hello to children despite how busy he may be at that time of year. If you know a super Santa, please give him a prod!
